Skyway

Skyway is one of those Colorado Springs neighborhoods that never shows up on anyone's highlight reel, and the people who live there are perfectly fine with that. Tucked into the far southwest side near Cresta Road and Bear Creek Road, most of Skyway was built out in the 1960s and 70s, and it still has that era's bones: ranch and split level homes, bigger lots than you will find in newer parts of town, and mature trees that actually give you shade in July.

What people usually call Skyway is really three smaller pockets rolled into one: Skyway Park, Skyway Park Estates, and Skyway Heights. Whichever pocket you land in, you are minutes from Bear Creek Regional Park and Stratton Open Space, which is a big part of why the people who buy here tend to stay for decades instead of a few years.

Getting Around

Downtown Colorado Springs is about 15 minutes north, and Highway 115 is a quick drive away for heading toward Fort Carson or Cañon City.

Skyway is served primarily by Cheyenne Mountain School District 12, which consistently ranks near the top of Colorado Springs districts, and Skyway Park Elementary sits right in the neighborhood. Some addresses closer to the edges of the area can fall into Colorado Springs District 11 instead, so always verify the exact assigned school for the specific address before you get attached to a house.
