Central Park

Central Park sits on the site of Denver's old Stapleton Airport, and even though the neighborhood officially rebranded years ago, plenty of longtime residents and real estate listings still call it Stapleton out of habit. Either name gets you the same thing: a genuinely planned community, wide streets, community pools, parks built into the layout from day one, and a newer housing stock that feels more like a well done suburb than the rest of Denver's historic core.

That planned feel is exactly why families gravitate here. Central Park was built with families in mind from the start, and it shows in the parks, the trails, and the sheer number of newer single family homes and townhomes on offer. It is also one of the more transit connected neighborhoods on this list, with its own light rail stations rather than relying on a nearby one.

Getting Around

Central Park has its own light rail stations on the A Line, making a car free trip to downtown or straight to DIA realistic. By car, downtown Denver is about twenty minutes via I-70, and DIA is a quick shot further east on the same line.

Central Park falls under Denver Public Schools, and this is one of the neighborhoods where DPS has built newer schools specifically to serve the growing family population, worth asking about directly since it is a different situation than some of Denver's older, more established neighborhoods.
